HELP
Well the SRS light is still flashing.
Found someone who says he can reset it, but we can't seem to find the connector!!!! Also its not too clear what shape colour etc the connector is supposed to be.
Its a 1995 Disco 1 2.5 litre Deisel in ES form.
We found a spare plug under the passenger dash but it does not match the diagnostic tool!
So where did Landrover hide it, or did they to bother to put one in.
I've found all sorts of connectors with blanks and shorting plugs fitted.

If anyone has the same vintage disco, could they take a piccy of the plug and its location. It really would be appreciated.
PS Ive had the glove box out and removed the centre console, but can only find the one plug!
Help and pics would be greatly appreciated.

i had someone do some work on mine 98 disco ES 399 TDI and the red srs light has been on ever since now the work we had done which was under the drivers seat
now may be the trouble is there who knows hope this helps may be a loose conector??

The SRS ECU is under the center cubby box according to the manual so this is where you will plug in, on later models there's a socket something like a 20 way mini scart below and to the left of the internal fuse box lid.

The problem can be caused by a poor connection with the rotary coupling below the steering wheel.

I have confirmed that its a 95 disco (vin prefix is MA) so I appear to have been wasting my time looking for the OBD connector.

So what kit is necessary to reset the SRS. is there another bit of Landy Only kit that connects direct to the SRS unit?
Any help would be appreciated.

Looking for that elusive OBD connector I've just about stripped the dash out again. Never mind good practice.

Best Regards

Thanks Dr Evil,
Know anyone/independent in North Herts with a Hawkeye and Disco 1 (as in '95) sotware (I checked the web site) bit much at £300 for one use?
I'd hate to have to use the main steelers!
Best regards
TH

No idea, my local does stuff like that for free though so if you find a good indy then they might do the same for you as its only a 5min job

Mine had an open circuit and somehow I managed to clear it myself without a hawkeye…….no idea how but I don't care its gone now and thats all that matters

Well I found a local chap at
Bennington Land Rover.
Very patient with me and an old Disco, he checked with his diagnostic tool supplier and confirmed he had the correct cable and software.
Confirmed the SRS had an 'Open Circuit' sensor error code.
Reset the SRS, tested it a few times
All Sorted
My Thanks to Bennington Land Rover, Bennington Park Farm Hertfordshire, SG2 7BU

There is a connector under the steering column, connected to one of the yellow sleeved cables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not an OBD!!!!!!
Why should I not be surprised
Best regards now all to fix is the wandering steering!!!!!!!! see new post
