can anyone help , i've recently purchased a 2001 p38 4.6 vouge on gas with 72,000 miles on the clock. I've just done a 1,600mile journey in her and she didnt miss a beat it was a joy to drive, but although i bought it with a service book full of stamps and milage there is no record of what was done , so i want her to have the works , all oils and lubricants/fluids etc , filters , so my question is any idea how much should i be looking to pay and can anyone recomend a good independant landrover garage in the northwest/north wales area. thank you in advance for any replies , doing this now as im a long distance lorry driver and i never now when i will get back.:)

Tis a lot cheaper outside of surrey, as there's no Mock Cockney tax to pay!! :D :D
lol....

I have to say those stupid voice recognition things creeping into business customer servie centres get very confused with my Queens English and annoyingly almost perfect diction...(Thanks Dad - we would get the belt if we dropped letters or didn't have proper pronounciation etc)....

So I have to try and reduce the harsh T's and H's.....:D

A good place near me that I have used for the last 6 years for most things.....

Auto Service price bands

But this is Surrey prices.....never lived anywhere else so wouldn't know the regional variations....

That's really confused me. Looking at the 500 quid major service, I reckon that you could buy all the service parts, all necessary tools (excluding Nanocom), a trolley jack and a pair of axle stands for less. In that sense it seems a hell of a lot.

On the other hand, they've got to earn a living. Say, 150 for renewables and the service labour comes in at 350. That's probably not that much for a day's skilled labour and overheads.

I think I'll go for reusable tools and DIY.

The downside of this is that the experienced posters on here are in for a long list of dumb-ass questions.

Hi mate i have a p38 also a 4.6 on gas and i use bell automotive who are based in queensferry in flintshire , they are v/good and very reasonable in price, give them a call and ask for graham hes the owner and knows what hes talking about. the number is 01244-813321. hope it helps Don.

All good going DIY but will cost you a lot more if you muck it up.

Although if you know what your doing it can really be cheaper.

I fully serviced my l322 td6 including engine oils, filters and gearbox oil and filter.

Parts cost me £220 and I fitted myself.

Landrover would charge about £1000 for all this !

around £800 for a full service. if you got to a landy agent, doing it yourself would cost you around 150 plus parts. you pay for the time it takes to do the job.
