hi.
i need to replace my fuel tank sender in my swb series 2. some one has put different comfy seats in and i can not get under them easily.
looks simple enough to drop the tank out and change the sender then but are the cables long enough?

hope someone can help.
thanks

Leon

Take the seats out. Do the job proper and, if necessary, "modify" the seat rails ti allow them to be removed easier next time - coz there will be a next time:).

I put Disco seats in my 2a. They are bolted straight through so to take them out you have to drop the fuel tank out.
On mine to do this i do the following:
Remove the back of the Disco seat so i can access the filler pipes for the tank and disconnect these
Unbolt the fuel tank and gently lower it - the cables are long enough to lower it onto a box, but probably not onto the ground, but this will give you ample room to replace your sender

thanks chaps.

i took MHM's advice and removed the rivets holding the seat plate ?? dawn and replaced with boults. i have temporarily glued ally nuts to the underside of the seat box and will weld them on in work making them captive.

thanks as i am shore it will save time in future and i have a fuel gauge
