Disco 1 fuel sender gauge

as per the title guys was going to change the fuel sender gauge due to fuel leak,then i came to undoing the union nuts totally rusted no chance of undoin fry's quoted about £70 each for the fuel lines fck i nearly fell over,dose this sound right to anyone eles

They are always (or so i gather) a pain to undo. Just to be sure - youve been soaking them in plusgas etc for some time, right?

One of those hoses is only short (to the sedimenter) but i think the other comes right from the IP. For £70 im sure you could make some up yourself using nylon pipe?

Are paddocks wanting the same?

All done now I made up some connecters new male's the guy in the local car shop didn't want to sell me the bits cos I'm messing with the fuel lines but he gave in in the end so happy days cost me a tenner in the end
