I have had my 1993 3.9 Vogue SE for about 2 months now and looks like my first maintenence job is needed :(

When I start her up there is a pumping/buzzing noise from the fuel tank area that goes on & off for a few minutes then stops.
I am running on LPG which swithces over from petrol after about 5s after sucessful ignition. Now it has stated to take a couple of goes to start and there is a smell of fuel from near the paseenger door on the drivers side. There also appears to be a leak but haven't confirmed it because it was raining all day today.

Does anybody have any advice? Could the fuel filter have become blocked or something.
I reckon there is a leak in the fuel send line and the pressure drops when it is sat parked, then when I start up the fuel pump self primes until the feul line pressure is at the right settting. This probably then sloly leaks out when I stop again and the LPG turns off.

Will get under and investigate when its not raining.

Does anyone have any advice or seen anything similar.

Thanks.

Knew it would take long to need to get the toolbox out, lol

Hi

Have you checked the carbon cartridge to see if its purging itself? (If it's still present on a 93, I have an 89 SE Vogue) Also it will be worth checking the pipes because they can become pitted and nasty then begin to leak. if there are any type of clip connecting them it could be worth replacing them too.

Does it happen on both petrol and gas ? if not it might be worth checking the tanks, especially if you have under sill tanks for the gas.

Don't know if this is any help

The Fuel pipe has sprung a leak.

Weather has dried up so got under earlier today. There is a slow leak from one of the fuel pipes (i think it must be the send) on top of the chassis rail immediately below the rear seat position.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to repair this. I sit easy to get a replacement and do the whole filter to engine bay section or would it be easier to find the leaking section and replace it assuming I can access it a
ok.

If anyone else has done this any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi

Just locate the leak, if it's a flexi hose (Rubber type) replace it. I don't know if you can buy a replacement part pipe although if you could seal it somehow with something suitable then it might work, although I would suggest replacing the entire pipe, less a repair section is available.

If a repair section isn't then how about trying Cycle repair solution, think it's near to vulcanising as possible.
