Fuel Pressure Regulator leak

HI Disco Fans

Can some one help please. I have a leak on my td5's (FPR) I have been looking around to see what can be done. On ebay you can get kit of O rings and a gasket to fix the existing reg, has any one done this and was it an easy job.

Fiddly ass job to remove,personally would only fit genuine new

Make sure you get the right one,early ones have two pipes,later ones three.

Ye I need the two pipes, been looking today at price for the part and done some research on this subject, Not sure but might get a rebuild kit for it and take a chance

put your finger over the tin cup on the rear if its wet around the little hole in it youll need a new one

Hi, i bought a repair kit from ebay a couple of weeks ago and replaced the regulator and with new gasket, o ring. Was fiddly job and a few sware words were used but got there in the end and fingers crossed its still all ok.

Was it an easy job getting the regulator out and how easy was it to get the new one in do you have any Problems with the circlip back.

Thanks for the reply it's good to hear that some one has done the regulator and it worked out. I see that people have bought the kit, its a shame that we don't get to hear how they got on fitting it

Hi, remove the engine cover, remove the engine lifting eye, remove tue electic plug, remove the 2 pipes which are quick release, undo the 3 bolts and remove the pressure regulator, remove old gaskit, be very carefull and remove the o-ring which then lets the small filter slide out, clean filter and replace - i used a small bit of grease to hold it in place, refit new o-ring again with a small bit of grease to hold it in place, put regulator in a vice very carefully, remove circlip with circlip pliers, use a pair of pipe pliers to carfully remove old regulator, clean houseing well and replace with new regulator which just pushes in, refit circlip, put a thin smear of gasket sealer on new gasket to hold it in place while refitting the fuel pressure regulator, refit as you have removed it, turn on then off ignition 2 or 3 times to bleed fuel system, start vehicle and check for leaks, road test and recheck. All done, job done.
