Hello. FL1 facelift. Fuel gauge is very slow to respond. If I fill up it stays on full even though I’ve done over a hundred miles. Any ideas what I need to replace please to make it more accurate

Do you really need to know how much fuel you have remaining if you've only done 100 miles from a full tank?

Fuel gauges are notorious for not being very proportionally accurate.

Its whether its accurate getting towards empty that counts.

It isn’t accurate at all. I didn’t make my point clear. It stays put until the end. Drops to half in a jump. Then I need to fill up

Sounds like the level sensor is faulty, but they don't go wrong often.

Make sure you get the correct replacement though, as there are different types depending on year of the vehicle.

Ok thanks. I’ve done 200 miles now and it’s still showing just under full

The FL1 gauge shows full for about 100 miles or so, then seems to slowly go down to the 1/4 marker, from which point onwards it falls rapidly. This is due the the way the float arm is configured in the sender unit.

It’s very new to me. So not sure what it will do on a full tank. It’s all according to how you drive of course. Although I’m too old to be a boy racer
