fuel gauage

can someone please help me i have a freelander 2 td4 2008 model,for the last week when i put fuel in it goes up on the range meter and then all of a sudden will drop to zero fuel can anyone please tell me whats wrong and how to fix it thanks louise it does go up again and then falls again to zero

If your vin is between VIN Range: H000200-H236000 and your fuel gauge reads zero on startup even though there is a fuel in the car . There is an IPK download to fix that.

If its just random and erratic is might be due to fuel sender pin height tollerance issue.


If your competent and can get it to fault. Fold the o/s 2nd row seat forward , remove the rubber grommet and firmly push the electrical connect and tis wiring down onto the sender. Wait 30 seconds , if the gauge now reads correctly, you need a sender in it.
