trying to get filter out of housing pump housing attached to filter on td4 2001are u takein oot the pump?
thankyou eric sounds right mate looking at itHad the same problem last week whilst changing mine. Used a large screwdriver between the top of the plastic housing and the underside of the old filter and gave it a twist. Move round the housing to even up the lift. This moved it up about 10mm. I then put the screwdriver sideways into the this gap and gently levered. It is the tension of the earth strap spring that seems to make the filter difficult to remove. Be careful not to loose the earth strap ( as I did) as it is under tension between the filter and the plastic cover!
Hope this helps,
Eric
