Disco 2 Fuel filter

Hi all,
I'm changing the fuel filter on my disco as it has started leaking!
My question is, do I go for a genuine filter (£41.40!!) or are the cheaper ones (£6ish) a waste of money?

I've just done mine this morning whilst replacing the fuel line - went for Mahle which was just over £10.
Wouldn't bother with a genuine one - they will be made my Coopers/Mahle etc but with a LR logo! Just avoid the unbranded crap along with ****part

I'd tend to agree, I treat the fuel filter the same as I treat the other filters and change it every year when I do an engine oil change. I get a complete pack on the bay, about £16 - £20 for everything you need (apart from the oil).

Had dear and cheap and not noticed the difference tbh. Wouldn't go DIRT cheap though, £10+ for Mahle- can't go wrong

Another vote for a branded filter, and more advice to stay away from the cheap carp like ****part.

I never thought I'd actually say this but I've fitted 2 Sh*tpart filters and they seem OK. But I did get them for free and I'd certainly never buy one...

Remember they sell parts of varying quality; genuine, OEM and aftermarket. You have to look at the part number to see that you are ordering.

I didn't know that. I thought they were all just a cheap replacement?

and by far the biggest , most parts come through them in the trade

B-part don't manufacture everything they sell, if they did they'd be a major international employer. They do as the vehicle manufacturers tend to do, purchase their parts from wherever and have them re-badge it as their own.
How many filter manufactures are there world-wide? Not that many.
B-Part just buys from where they can get the cheapest deal. Unfortunately, quality is sometimes left off the purchase contract.
I bought a new prop shaft doughnut a couple of years back and was disappointed to see it arrive in the "blue bag", however on close inspection, it was a GKN part after all.
