Hi fellas,

I've searched endlessly on the internet for what switch I need for roof spotlights but nothing is helping!:violent:
I simply want a switch on the left/ right hand side of my binnacle or somewhere on the dash that works individually, turning on when I push it and turning off when I push it again. What switches do you use? And could you link me to them? I have no idea about electrics, I just want the parts before I send it off to the auto electrician. Vehicle is a discovery 2 td5 2001.

Thank you! Any advice is great! I just want light!!!

No - you'll need to look for one that looks similar or fits the hole you've got. I've got a series, anything fits!

dont forget you need to have them wired so that if capable of being switched on when on the road , then they have to go out when headlamps are dipped !

Only if they are driving Lamps and only if they're wired to come on when the headlamps are on. If they're work lamps (or auxillary lamps) they just need an on off switch.

Correct, just aux/ work lights so no need to have anything to do with headlights :)

excuse the phrasing of my earlier advice , if aux /work lights the switches will need a warning light to show when lit ,also just remember that if they are aux /work lights , and you get caught on the road with them lit you could get a FPN . HTSH

Haha it's okay! And that's fine, they're not for road use at all. Any idea what switch I could use? Rear wiper switch?

Its a push on push off switch , just a matter of wiring to suitable plug to connect on back , as for assy reasons , the switches will have different plugs , so the guy on the assembly line cant connect the wrong one !

Ah I see! Excellent news, glad I don't have to fork out much now! Thanks again for the advice good sir!

I use one of these for my roof lights - I have it mounted into the side of the instrument binnacle....

Got about 14 of 'em in me toolbox in green, blue and yellow - bargain at about 80p each delivered from those luvly peeps in China.

Can either just be a switch with a pretty coloured bit or if you earth 'em the likkle light will glow when its on!

So, turns out the front fog light switch sits at the top of the binnacle, where my rear fog light switch sits. So think I'll be ordering another rear fog switch and I'll just pick the picture of the front of the switch!
