Hello all! I have an odd issue with the drivers door window switch on my 2001 Freelander GS. Basically it’s like it’s upside down in that you push it down to raise the window and up to lower. Also the one touch works on closing only. The switch connector can only go in one way so I’m wondering do I need to have the door card off? I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Someone had this same issue very recently after fitting as replacement regulator. Think it was fixed and explained on the thread, it won't be that far back in the history.

I’m not aware of any changes, the car was owned for 15 years by my father in law who has since died. I’m thinking I’m going to have to pull the door card off and get my multi meter out! The rear doors have had new regulators so I’m guessing it’s likely the drivers door will have too

Can tell you a likely answer. Most aftermarket window regulators don’t come with the right plug so folks cut and join the wires. With the motor being bi directional when wired backwards the switche works backwards. Did this myself once when I wasn’t sure of wiring so I just joined them quick to see if it was right and that’s what happens to me switch down>window up lol so quickly swapped wires around.
