Front Windscreen Washer Help Needed Please

Hi there

I have a Landrover Defender (N reg). I am having trouble with the front windscreen washer jet. I have had the bottle washed, the pipes blown through with an airline and the jet opening looked at. Also the pump sounds like its working, but all I get is a pathetic jet of water onto the windscreen.

Any ideas....perhaps I need a new pump?

Have you tried pulling the piece of plastic off from under the window to see if it's the jets still blocked?

I haven't, but I shall hae a look.

If you try squirting it whlie the plastic bit is off and it's still a bit pathetic, you could have a look at the filter hidden behind the lower left hand dashboard behind the wiper motor.

Thanks so much for your suggestions, the front windscreen washer is now working, its like Niagra Falls!!! Turns out one of the plastic tubes was being pinched closed, and not allowing the water to run freely. Come to think of it it was working when we bought car, then when we had the windscreens wipers fixed,and suddently the washer didn't work. The mechanic said he didn't know what the problem was!!!!! Looks like he may have caused the problem in the first place.
