As above really,

Just got myself a set of Rover Recaro's.

Been outside to have a quick look at how to remove the exisiting seats...I am struggling a bit :5bblush5:

Basically all I can see is two bolts that are securing the seat subframe to the seat box? Am I missing something (it was/is dark)..?...I assume I am...

Also, does anyone have any pointers on how to fit Rover Recaro's into a Defender?

Any help would be much appreciated

Sorry for the stooopid questions...

Thanks

Liam

There are 4 bolts holding down each seat two that you have found at the front and two more at the back. The back ones are a little bit more difficult to remove as you have to get under the landrover and hold the nut to free the bolt. Its an easy job though.

i have the rover 800 recaros in mine, i made up new seat bases and runners, losts of welding and grinding, worth the time tho. i have a matching rover 600ti rear seats in the back, they where even more fun to fit, even reshaped the inner wheel arches lol

The seat bases should be bolted down with captive nuts on the underside of the seatbase.

If these spin its most likey that the rivet that holts the plate onto the seatbox has corroded, new rivet before you start and away you go.

If you don't have captives then they have fallen off at some point and someone has replaced them with nuts.

You will need to slide the seat forward on the runners to get access to bolts.
