Since it's a nice day, I thought i'd change the bushes on the front radius arm. Over the last 6 months, I have done every other SOB bush on the truck and left the front radius arms 'til last as it was already fitted with poly bushes - therefore lowest priority.

Got all the nuts off. I didn't have to counter hold the bolts when undoing the nuts, at the time I thought it was a bonus, how wrong I was! I can't move the bolts at all! I got a metre long bar and am hanging of it just to get the bolt to turn, let alone belt it out with the minimal space I have with a hammer.

It's jacked up, stands on the chassis. I have tried it on the ground too, same problem. Something is biting the bolts hard. Worryingly, when I turn the bolt, it squeaks. Wonder if the muppet before me didn't put the metal sleeve through!?

Any suggestions? The only alternative I can think of is to take the swivel assy off so I can get a good swing with a hammer.

sounds like bolt has rusted to inner sleeve ,usually when that happens it easier to cut bolts either side of the side of the arms with thin cutting disc or hacksaw

Already ahead of you there Albert, new nuts, bolts and bushes ready to go in. I'm a bit OCD and don't like reusing old bolts for that reason. Cheers James martin, I'll go get the grinder out. Weird that both bolts have rusted, but if they weren't lubed, makes sense!

had the same when i changed my radius arms... previous numpty hadnt copper slipped the bolts and they were stuck and rusted firmer than a firm thing.... angle grinder and 1mm discs soon sorted

cheers steve
