Series 3 Front knocking

Hi again all,

On the way home tonight my 88" has started knocking in front left corner when on hard right hand lock.

Had a quick look but didnt see much of anything. Nothing has been changed recently so im guesing somthing is on the way out

Any ideas what to look for?

Could be wheel bearing but probably half shaft U/J

Its just telling you somethings wrong! REALLY the best way is to dismantle now and check the components mentioned

Is it in 4wd?

To test, drive around slowly on full lock. Someone outside looking and listening may be able to detect where knock is coming from.

Cv joint?

No CV joint in a series.

Raise all wheels, neutral, no handbrake, steering full lock, and turn wheels and shafts from underneath while listening and feeling for play, resistance, knocking, etc.
But as above, before jacking, check for any sign of body underside damage in the area, and consequent rubbing of tyres, brake lines, or other parts.

Couldn't it be a spring bush?

Don't overlook the simple things....does tyre catch leaf spring on full lock? Free wheel hubs engaged or disengaged?

Oddly it's now stopped?

Fine by me ill wait till some better weather and set about replacing old with new.

I would not take that as a sign that everything's OK unless it was more than likely just a bit of muck.
