Front Door Won't Open!!

HELP - Anyone any tips will be really appreciated. Front (Passenger's) door locked shut and I'm buggered if I can sort it!
This is what I've done:
Loosened door card as much as possible to allow (limited) access to mechanism
Opened window and, from outside, tried to pull all linkages etc whilst operating outside button.
Loosened door hinges to give door more movement, but there's no way I can release the latch!

i have to push the button and turn the key at the same time and wiggle it

Only the XS Spec ones had spider guards! Fancy!

i have a 65 109 thats fitted with spider guards,and they appear to have been factory fit

What did you do here Griff? I'm having a problem with the passenger door which sounds similar - it's locked, i can't unlock it and i can't open it! Any clues?

It has never opened with the key but the internal mechanism has always been fine. Looking in i can see the lock wire going up and down but the handle won't open the door when it's up (i can see that mechanism moving also)

Gi's a clue!!!

I've been having this every morning for the last couple of weeks.
Have to climb in via the back door and pull the lock up whilst attempting to open the door...
