I'm just trying to put some new front door hinges on, but...
I've slackened all the screws of ok, but the 2 furthest to the back (bottom hinge) just seem to be spinning round - quite a lot of posts about getting screws out that won't move, but can't find anything on loose ones. Do I need to take the inside door panel off and hold the retaining nuts from behind?
Cheers
Andy

not too sure if you can get to the nut behind... the anchor nut will have snapped so its just spinning. it did it on mine but it half unscrewed so i could slip an cutting disc on there! you might have to drill the head off..?

and remember hinges are handed top/bottom /side to side

Mmmm! I think I wrote on them when I took them out of the packets but now I've painted them - I guess I'll have to try and match them to the ones coming off! Still not sure if I can get at them via taking door panels off - hope so coz drilling them out sounds tricky

Easy job drill them out mate I did it with mine n put new ones in I did mine in 5 mins tops

If you can do that in 5 mins you are some boy. Any chance you can come and do mine as I dont know anyone who can unbolt fit new hinge with new bolts never mind drilling the old ones off and then fitting the new hinge in 5 min tops.

maybe his surname is lightning.....:D

they do drill out easily if pilot drill used first and then 8 or 9 mm decent drill bit ,ive allways done them this way ,and would never buy hinges without new srews and captive nuts
