P38A Front Door handle where does this piece go

Can someone tell me where part 22 goes in the diagram below? It fell into the door space so did not see where it came from.

I do not like it when I have parts left over but it is usually the case!

I'm sure I've read somewhere that part is not needed but can't remember why.

Is it a strengthening bar ? Bolt 11 through the hole in bit 22 on the inside of the door skin, just throwing it out there.

if you click on 22 in lrcat it's called plate retaining... i think it goes behind the door skin ie torx screw through the inner doorskin, then through the hole in part 22, then the outer skin, and then into the door handle
