Hi Guys.

My 2005 4.4V8 petrol has sprung a leak.
Good and proper. Not done many miles..

What do I need?
Is this a simple job but high in labour costs?
Or is it more cost effective to change the diff unit and save labour?
Thoughts please...

Many thanks.

It may just be a seal and could be worth saving without the cost of a new diff:confused:

It would depend on where its leaking. If it's leaking oil from a drive shaft seal, then repair is easy, once the shaft is out.
If it's leaking from the pinion seal, then the repair is more involved, but is still possible to do in the vehicle, if the person doing the job is a proper time served mechanic. Your average fitter wouldn't have a clue, and would simply fit a replacement diff.
