been trying to remove front bumper on my series 2/3 hybrid, anybody got any idea's. problem is that obviously the 4 retaing bolts are seized and can't get a spanner to fit the nuts as they have rounded, the omly way as i can see is to attack it with a gas axe, problem is that i haven't got one.

Can't help you here - on my series the nuts are almost unreachable and the bolts only come out upwards. I ended up angle grinding the chassis away from the bumper!

yes the nuts are unreachable and the bolts come out through the top, so you can't angle grind the boltheads off as the bolts cannot go downwards, no room to get a nut splitter in either

now, don't you realise that greasing nuts is a virtue, and those that don't should rot in the fires of hell.
Not to be to to extreme, but they should also have to undo rusty nuts with their teeth for all eternity.
that puts my position clearly methinks...........

if you have acces to welder cut head off nut ,cut bottom bumper mount off ,which you can refit or make after then cut old bolt out

Mine were completely seized as well. Can't remember what I did though to get them out! It probably resulted in making something, a drill, a hammer, and the angle grinder, as most jobs seem to do!

yes got access to welder, and will have a go at cutting bottom off bumper mount and knocking bolt downwards after cutting head off, this is the only problem i have come across whilst doing land rovers, it seems like a design fault, i am only changing bumper cause its sligtly twisted

Just an idea as I have not had to try it on mine..... as you have a welder (though an air impact driver would be useful too...)

Weld a bridge piece between the 2 nuts, so fixing them together, while it is still hot try undoing the bolts.
