any help on this would be great.
cheers..:scratching_chin:

Get underneath and undo and support the centre (vcu) by removing two sets of four bolts on the bearings then unbolt prop from either end.
No extra blanking plates are necessary.
It has been mentioned that turning the car into two wheel drive may affect your insurance, check this if you are worried.

Nowt to it really

ps don't burn it, the tratters are only jealous :)

There is a very, very, good how to on the freelander section of the forum, take a look at the sub forum marked how to ;)

BTW, it's easy, unless you're a fat git, then you need axle stands to give youu some breathing room under the thing

Why the hell did Land Rover bother making the Freelander 4wd in the first place? Most of them rarely get driven anywhere other than on tarmac. The 4wd system is ****, and they actually work better when converted to 2wd.

They built it cos they'd have gone bust just building Defender.

True most don't ,but mine does and it's ace on the slippy stuff and goes over bigger bumps than you'd imagine.

The 4 wheel system is not ****, it needs looking after true, it copes well with all terrians apart from the really high/deep stuff.

The drive in mondo isn't great, the steering is too light and grip can be compromised.
