Hi all since my last posting i have realised that removing airbag ecu had nothing to do with motor going into limp mode.It turned out to be a blocked up pump and filter located in o/s/r wheel arch, easily cured by removing arch liner,4 bolts,2 between filter and pump and 2 underneath, dissconnect pipes and wiring and remove pump/filter /water trap as a complete unit, fit pump and filter, mine were originals dated 2005,done 52,000,relacement is reversal of removal, think pump is probably ok will keep as spare, whole job only takes about an hour if you have the bits,my filter was blocked solid, runs like a dream now, flew through mot after new airbags fitted and the ecu reset(ebay £30)someone said they cook they don't!!! anyway new to all this internet mechanics, and hope to have motor on road next week after VIC check, then i will fit my dastek chip which i will report on,currently fitting 13 pin towing socket and split charge etc.
