Hi,
I was just reading up on the TD4 engine having just purchased a Freelander have came across some general "upgrades" and things to do in order to improve the general running of the car and known reliability issues.
Some of the suggestions Id came across were (quoted so perhaps incorrect)
- Changing the crankcase breather to the new modified BMW version so the engine doesn't blow itself apart.
- Fitting an EGR bypass valve so the engine can breathe and a couple of
- Running with Millers Diesel additive to help keep the injectors clean.
Obviously ongoing good maintenance is the life of any vheicle but what I'm trying to find out is if there is any "sticky" or post that lists the generally recommended items to address that are not necessary noted on standard maintenance schedules.
Thanks.
Paul
