Afternoon All,

I'm having some trouble with the Hippo and would like to get some ideas on what i can try, before i take it to a garage.

I was told recently during my last repair that the voltage reading from the car kept varying / oscillating. After this, a week ago i got back to my car after it had been standing for a week and the battery was totally dead (not even an LED on the dash lit up, nothing). I took it to the local battery place where they told me it was totally flat, but otherwise ok - charged it and returned it to me.
The same thing happened about 3 days after that - got to the car in the morning (it was being used every day) and the battery was totally dead again.

So, it seems i must have an (intermittent) short somewhere, where would i start? Which fuses to remove first as the main culprits?

I have the battery charged again (battery place reckon its capacity is also good), so im ready to give it a shot. Any advice welcome.

wouldn't have thought it was a short, otherwise fuse would blow and that would be the end of your discharged battery problems.

as MHM says, get alternator checked, if that is ok, you need to measure the discharge current when the vehicle is locked, and that will give you an idea of whether everything has shut down. then we can begin to work out what (if anything) is still on.

Hi ,this describes very well the symptoms I am having with mine, what was the outcome? I know my alternator is feckd, chris
