Hi all

Just got an old 3dr 1999 Freelander a few months ago to add to the general collection of vehicles - knew it needed work and am slowly getting through the list of things to sort that previous owners have ignored! Seems to be plenty of Freelander owners here whose brains I can hopefully pick ;)

VCU pulled off and about to head away to Bell for reconditioning, 4 "new" tyres from eBay on steel wheels (to replace 4 different tyres on Kia alloys which came with the vehicle, didn't know they were same pcd?!) - just replaced the IRD unit with a recon unit from All Star Breakers/World of Rover, new o/s front driveshaft fitted from J&R on eBay, new cables fitted to drivers window (horrible job and still not the quietest lift in the world), rebuilt the calipers with new seals and fitted new discs and pads.

Still got to sort out the temperate gauge - bits should be in the post (quite important on the 1.8 petrol!) should just be the sender as grounding the wire (after having fitted a connector - someone had cut the old connector off) shows gauge going to max. New bonnet release cable to go in, speedo to sort - looks like last couple of MOTs have been 128k miles

Rear subframe mounting to fix, VCU and props to stick back on, change interior to get 5 seats, sort back door so it actually closes and window goes up, fit LPG conversion, fit radio that works, sort heater resistors so I get speeds 1&2 back, fix reversing lights, sort central locking and find out why the keyfob batteries only last a couple of days if they are left in and that should be me with a vehicle I can use! Anyone with any words of advice for the remaining jobs, advice gratefully accepted :D

Thanks guys, doors falling off going through a puddle?! Well, the back door needs work but the front ones seem to be just fine, certainly don't get the wind and the rain through ala series/defender style!

For the love of god the last thing a Freelander owner says is me back door needs work, it doesnt dispell the myth we are all gay with comments like that :D
