I had similar problems with mine. Initially thought it was corrosion on the pcb. Eventually found that with a meter there was no continuity between the ground contact of the pcb and the crimp inside the plug. As soon as I tried to clean the spring face of the crimp the contact fell apart due to corrosion.

Bent the remainder of the contact so it was touching the board after cleaning it and the lights work as they should. Not ideal as the plug has to be fitted carefully but as it is not reconnected frequently it will do. At least I know where to look if it goes wrong again.

PCB?
il have another look at the plug but it looked ok & no signs of water in their so thats good news anyway, iv tryed tracing the wires but cant find were they go to from the headlining/a post?
Thanks for the help.

yer thought it ment that just wanted to be sure!
The plugs ok but the earth isnt! do you know were about it earths? if i find it i mite be able to clean it up just noticed that my D/window wont close with the egnition off when it used to so i think they mite be conected? & only my three warning lights (hdc abs tc) are coming on every now & then & it wont start? (replaced brake switch) made no difference! but they go off if i just slightly turn the key to turn the startermotor then all my lights will come on like they should (eng-manage, glow plugs ect) then it starts! could all be linked?
Thanks

Multiple odd probs frequently are related to earthing issues. LR do use common earthing headers so it would be a good idea to look at the RAVE disk and clean yours up.

Iv seen mentioned the rave disk before! im guessing it can be down loaded? Were can i find it thanks. Its all new to me!
Thanks
Steve.

The reason why you get odd results with the interior light is there are effectively two earths. One is switched by the CCU in response to the door open signal and operates the interior light directly, the second is permanent and is used when turning on the interior lights with the buttons.

I found the RAVE circuit diagram a bit confusing as it seemed to indicate the lights were earthed by the fixing points, as far as I could tell they are not as the whole assembly is mounted in a plastic frame.
