has anyone taken out the original radio from a FreeLander facelift (2004 - 2007) and put their own radio in, which would require a Double Din Facia Plate, if yes, what are the dimensions of the space below the radio after installing your own radio?

the reason i am asking is i want a FreeLander sometime soon, i have a radio to put in it, which will mean replacing the original, if i buy a Double Din Facia, there might be enough space underneath the radio to put a cb in, depending on space and what cb i can buy

let the banter begin from rusty disco drivers and ridiculous range rover drivers (ill spare defenders, as i actually like the look of them and i would drive one)

I did on mine, I will try and remember to measure it but PM me if I forget and don't post back :)
At a guess I would say the space below is exactly the size to fit another standard single DIN unit.

I took my double din Land Rover radio out and replaced it with a double DIN pioneer bluetooth thingy..The pioneer cage that I put in filled the double din hole and could take two single head units if required - depends on how big the plastic fascia is on your radio I guess..if it has a small bevel then there may be enought space to fit something else other than a blanking plate.
