Hi all, this is my first post and I come in search of help ....
I have an 06 Freelander, which is mainly used for ferrying 3 large dogs around (one day I will have a county and a crate).
Last week, a rumbling noise started from the back wheel whilst at speed on the motorway, i pulled into the services and the vehicle seized - apparently my rear diff is shot. I have been quoted £900 plus labour to replace, alternatively they can 'take off the prop and split and not use a diff?'. I understand this removes the 4x4 and is it therefore safe to do and surely it's classes as a modification?
Alternatively should I sell it as it is and move on?
Any advice most welcome, thanks
