Other freelander diesel 2.0 won't start

The pump O ring, where is it found?
remember, i can build you a beautiful stone wall but have trouble doing an oil change!
perhaps change the starter motor along with the O ring. i need to be careful not to mess the mechanics around.

Yes that is quite correct. There must be fuel pressure for it to start. It's difficult to monitor it, because pressure fluctuates lots, but it needs to be a reasonable amount. I think mine measures about 8KPa while cranking.

Stone walls are of no purpose where I live.

They do not stand up in earthquakes.

Unfortunately the poor people in central Italy are finding this with their homes.

I'm having this same problem,but didn't run out of fuel , mine don't it with a full tank
Mine a td4 53 reg ...
Been told it could be the high pressure fuel pump....
Let me no if you get yours to work and how

This is the little blighter causing so many problems

Does it split or does it degrade and break down? If it breaks down - could it be bits of this clogging up injectors or stopping them closing that cause so many other TD4 injector related problems?

From what I have read of other peoples issues, some have split, but one photo did show that it had started to disintegrate, so you could be correct thats bits are affecting the injectors.

This thread has a picture of a degrading o ring.
There are two recent threads of similar symptoms of not starting. This pic shows areas of the o ring missing.
