My local (very good) garage diagnosed a faulty airflow meter on my Freelander DI after I reported a sluggishness in acceleration and an increase in fuel consumption.

I duly replaced the part myself as they could not get hold of one that day but I'm not convinced things have improved that much - does a fault-code need to be reset or should replacing the part have cured it? (assuming it was the problem in the first place).

Thanks in advance

Was the replacement new?
Iirc if a fault code was generated it should be errased as current but remain logged as a historic fault after around 40 drive cycles

Sorry for delay in replying - yes MAFF was new however it was one of these 'compatible' units as I baulked at the £150 cost of a LR part ......

then no reset will be needed try Esso new fuel you should see a difference I have

What's this new Esso fuel you keep mentioning?

As it happens I generally use Esso (although I prefer Shell) and the current tankfull seems to be lasting forever. Nearly 400 miles recorded and the needle has only just passed the halfway mark. Usually it'd be at the 1/4 mark by now.
