FREELANDER 2002 EXHAUST

I have a 82 series 3 so im used to getting my hands dirty , my neighbour has offered to sell me a 2002 freelander, mot failure for £250 , the only fail (ive seen the paperwork) is exhaust mid box blowing , it is pretty corroded , now I have been underneath and it bolts on after the cat and to the backbox looks pretty easy and access is good. Now the query I have is this , the exhaust looks like an exhaust ava up to 2000 models
, the actual exhaust for this 2002 model is an exhaust which includes the cat and is about £250 , the one that looks like it is currenrtly on there is approx £40 . and is the up to 2000 exhaust , im assuming its been changed and I could replace like for like and not spend £250 , am I missing something ,
