So what do you guys think of the new Freelander from the preview pictures
and the mechanical spec that has been in the press today?
Can't believe the cheapest will be £22,000. that's taking it up market more
than a bit, but then there isn't a 3 door any more.

Not big enough/not enough seats - same as the last one.

I'm dissapointed with the price. For a little more you can get a previous
year LR3/Disco3.

Put more seats in it and you get a Disco. :)
Certainly looks similar from the front anyway, from the side it's like the
old 5 door model.

Interesting engine choice available at the start, an all new 2.2ltr turbo
diesel engine (but still called a TD4 though and developed together with
PSA ) with 158bhp at 4000rpm and 297lb.ft at 2000rpm with a 6 speed manual,
auto to follow, and a 3.2ltr petrol straight six transverse mounted (Volvo
i6) with 230bhp at 6300 and 234lb.ft at 3200 with a 6 speed auto.
One wonders if that new TD4 will find it's way into the Defender idc, bet
the petrol doesn't in the UK.

How do you think it would cope with your gardening tools?
