hi just wondering if anyone has had oil from the ird unit leak
into the bell housing, and contaminate the clutch,

Not had that. Mine was leaking gearbox oil into the bell housing after I had my clutch an slave cylinder changed.
There's a seal in the guide tube that the slave goes over and this can get damaged when you change the slave letting gear box oil enter the bell housing from the gearbox input shaft

cheers for the info thought it could be the o ring seal on the ird because the gearbox mating surface had thick oil stuck like it had been there for a while and seeping in, in that area, but then the part you explained seemed quite oily to, there's quite a bit of oil on the bash/bottom engine guard to, could be crank seal, any info would me much appreciated,

Mine was ****ing out, I only noticed about a week after the clutch had been done when I found a load of oil under the car. After going over everything and tightening all the gearbox bolts up properly(nothing had been torqued up by the garage) I found oil leaking from the bell housing. The DMf wasn't changed as the one on it is quite low mileage so the only place it could be coming from was the input shaft seal.
I
It has 2 seals, one o ring under the base plate of the guide tube and one inside it at the bottom that the input shaft goes through.
The o ring part number is tyx 100560L and cost £1.50
The guide tube comes with the seal as a complete unit, part number UTL 100080L.....I can't remember how much this part is but it wasn't expensive.

cheers, do you know where you get the part numbers from, need new bolts
what go on the pressure plate, had to use a nut extractor to remove them, and best place to get the parts from, and dose anyone know how much oil to put back int ird unit searched every where,
