Hi all, Our Freelander 1 2.0ltr diesel started making aslight popping/induction noise, very shortly afterwards it seized completely, not sure yet whether its on the crank or in a cylinder, anyone have any experience of these engines seizing and if so is their a commoncause?
Freelander 1 seizure.

Td4, most common I would say is broken crank, I have had this. Or fuel lock due to failed injector.
Out wrench on crank pulley and wobble it, you'll feel slack if crank broken.
For fluid lock take out injectors and turn over by hand.
