Hi everyone, can anybody figure this one out.Parked my 99 freelander 1.8 up for the night and it was running fine, went to it next morning and bingo,it just kept winding over and tryin to pick up but wouldnt have it.So out comes the tools, checked for spark weak but there, so fitted new leads, plugs, cap, rotar arm and a coil, eighty five quid for that lot and yep, still the same though the spark would now kill an elephant. So on the internet i go and came across this site.Read some forums and decided to se if the fuel pumps running both on prime and when winding over and it is.Next trick i got it towed and low and behold up she kicks, held the throttle on 3000 rpm for a few secs to clear it and slowly released but when it reached 2000 rpm it died.Tried it of the key again and same prob, trying but just wont pick up,towed again and same thing.Next off down to the ex rover dealer who should be able to diagnose this.Fifty six quid later out comes a dude with a receipt that says checked ign timing, valve timing, rotor arm and compression all o.k. no codes found.Has anyone out there any ideas.
Thanks in advance
Dave
