Well....almost!

OK, here's the situation. We have 2 vehicles that need to go to France. SWMBO is refusing to drive as it is too far on the wrong side of the road, and too scary on the motorway! So..we have her BMW stuck in the UK and I need to get it to France.

I looked at a car transporter trailer to hook up to the back of the van, but they are stupidly expensive - might as well buy another car! (Yes, I know I could re-sell, but just don't have the time) - unless someone has one they can lend me for a couple of weeks?! :) few beer tokens on offer in return!

One suggestion is that I offer a "free" trip to France for someone who is willing to drive the BMW down to near Poitiers. Would entail Portsmouth-Caen ferry trip, days driving in France (4-ish hours, or however long it takes you) an over night stay in France and a flight back to your nearest airport. Now, you are of course welcome to stay in France longer (at your expense, or possibly at my parents) and flights can be arranged for whenever you wish.

Other than personal arrangements, everything would be paid for by yours truly. Also welcome to bring along a wife/partner/gf/mistress(?! :D LOL) (if the flight is v. cheap we might be able to pay for her return too!)

The catch being that it needs doing either next week or very early the week after!

Anyway - just a thought, and since LR people are always nice I thought I would ask on here! Oh, and BTW - we (and the car!) are in Bristol.

Cheers,

Matt

Trouble is we would need it for 3, maybe 4 weeks - which is just uneconomical to hire, not to mention that the hire companies don't like you taking them out of the country. I was going to buy one, but they are waaay to expensive (or a pile of cr*p!) and I don't have time to re-sell it to get my money back.

Thanks for the offers all, but I've got it all sorted now. Have managed to get it sorted out so that the van can stay here and I can fly back myself next week to pick that up.

Cheers,

Matt
