They should be fresh still hot in a paperbag and drip juice out the bottom. The trick is to eat it before the bag gets too soggy and all the juice starts dripping out into your lap

Bringing it back to the topic at hand rather than paying attention to the degenerates trying to argue about which is better north or south (when we all know the middle is best!) 2000 miles is not a huge trip but it depends on the terrain you plan on driving and the general condition of you Land Rover. I do about 30k a year so am on top of maintance and would just get in and drive 2000 miles without thinking about it. If yours is more of a weekend toy I would do fluids and filters (remembering to grease all your nipples) check the brake pad levels, and give all the suspension and steering components a good shaking. Fix anything you find with play and away you go.I could easily do 2000miles from here round trip without goin in the water..

Dont forget the small plastic plugs on the radiator and cooling system. I had one fail on my 300Tdi and it necessitated a recovery home, all for a £2 part! Have some spare or swap for brass heating ones. You wouldn’t want one to fail in the sticks!
