It all hinges on the mot which is due in October SO I checked my easy bleed and the seals are not that good and I have had it for many years so Iam going to get a new one not to expensive to see if I can bleed it again maybe enough to get it to mot and see what happens There is one thing andy Where the bleed nipple joins the case is a 13mm nut type to hold the said nipple for locking of mine seems to be "loose" I would imagine its supose to be tight?

If not leaking then probs ok. The pipes are routed into the gearbox with no clips so pipes will move but if the nut is loose check for leakage.

Thanks will do new bleed kit just arrived going to give it ago tomorrow all being well never know might be lucky been messaging some other garages for a quote but no replies so far will have to get on the phone, The wife did suggest trying to find a good one of the same type and use this one for spares.

Right we have found one with clutch etc done beginning of the year only other faults are a window regulator no ariel. and its a five door td4 2004 runs great so we can use some spares perhaps from the 3 door and then we can sell our vitara with new canvas and mot to recoup some off the losses (subject to giving the possible new one a through going over

Well the saga has ended WE have managed to get a 5 door freelander TD4 2005 for 900 the tyres on the broken one are worth £400 so they will go on the new one and scrap value is £325 after i have swapped bits around Final quote for the clutch by an Andover garage was 1500

I'd keep the one you don't used, as there's over £1k worth of parts on it.

Id love to just no where to keep it and the wife would have a blue fit if I dismantled it in front of the house. Th e 2005 freelander we now have has advisories from its test which i would think would fail it this time (o/s and ns front brake pipes and N/s/r and o/s/r brake pipes Would you roughly to have it done at a garage? Thanks again for all your imput much appreciated
