Hey all, I'm not as new as I seem, have been lurking around reading up a little during my time here. Anyway, Arguement with my Father about insurance, now, I'm sure I'm right as I've dug up various threads and showed him them regarding the subject.

However, with Footman James, is there a discount to members of an "Owners Club" like the forum we're on, or others, I personally find this one of the best ones so I thought I'd ask you guys and girls here.

Or is it to payed memberships?

Cheers!

Adrian Flux gave £10 off for being on here. You have to be able to prove it, if requested in the event of a claim.

You have just reminded me 3 yrs ago when i first went with AF i got a discount but i have never mentioned it since i wonder if they have quoted me including it at renewal if not its my own fault.

When i first got my series the Insurance company then was Firebond insited that i join a club the club was Torquemor but i don't think that club going now. firebond is now part of the Footman james empire..
My insurance on the disco is due april so will enquire about discount with the company i go with

I had to join the Series 3 and 90/110 owners club in order to get classic insurance with Footman James. They didn't count LZ as an owners club.

When I mentionned the LZ forum to Adrian Flux, they accepted it as a forum, not a club.

Footman James are mine and their list of supported Landy Clubs is short unfortunately, but I may push them for my local one rather than a nationwide one for the time being.

They did say no to the forum though, despite it being a very wide spread owners club for all Landy owners and brilliant for information regarding anything!

Sureterm gave me a discount for being a member here but it was a pain proving it....... I just got a renewal quote off them for £285... not bad. Did a search online and Sureterm will do it for £140.81p :eek: Now that is CHEAP!!!!

I then added a roof rack and driving lights as modifications and the cheapest I could get it for using the same Moneysupermarket search engine was £421.85p... sureterm fell off the radar.

What the fook is all that about.... soooooo I will do without a roofrack and extra lights.

There's no legal definition as to what constitutes being a "4x4 club". While Landyzone certainly isn't the same type of club as your local 4x4 club, it is still by dictionary definition a "club" of sorts. As the insurance companies have not defined what constitutes being a club, there's no reason why you cannot state that you're a member of a club. The fact that Landyzone members periodically organise off road and green laning events will go in your favour should anyone dispute this claim.

I too got a discount from my Adrian Flux insurance policy because of my membership here. That's when I decided to pay Landyzone back by donating to Landyzone. (and getting a red name!)

I think as soon as you check the little 'yes' box on the modifications part, loads of insurance companies just won't even quote for it, no matter how small the mod is. Bit silly of them really, if they really want our custom.

Try Frank Pickles... I have just renewed with them as they were MILES cheaper than my current renewal (£145 against £620) and they say the more mods the better as they are specialist 4x4...

Ive not renewed yet and my insuance runs out at noon on 16th so have all morning to clinch a deal... will try Frank Pickles. Had hoped to get my son who is 22 and clean etc for 3 years on my insurance.... If my landy was 15yrs + old then Footman James could have helped...not one company listed in LRO International would touch under 25yrs.... best quote £1400. Wouldn't mind but he owns his own Ford Focus and a motor bike so its not a front... just an option for him to enjoy.

If anyone has insured a youngster aged 22 on there Landy insurance (veh less than 15yrs old) at a good price let me know please :)
