Now we all drive around in Indian owned cars. Thanks to Ford selling to Tata. I notice Ford are bringing out their own range of 4x4's. Firstly the Kuga in the spring of 2008, which has all the 4x4 gear from the freelander and apparently they are bringing out a bigger sister model, planned for release in 2010 to rival the discovery.. Looks like Ford are doing the same as Bmw. Bought the company, Got the tech know-how. Sold the company and then bring out rival models. How long will Tata keep landy??

S'odd that. I drive around in a motor owned by me, built by British Leyland (not that that's anything to brag bout!), the switchgear and a lot of electrical stuff (not that there is much!) etc is made by lucas & any parts I now replace on it come from a range of mainly British aftermarket parts companies. Not much to do with India on mine matey!

Oh, just thought, I've got a Japanese starter motor...............er, I think. :D

Who cares? Only those wot buy new 'uns & fer a helluva lot on here new Landies hold as much interest as handbags. ;)

I'm more concerned that a few years from now every remaining unsurfaced road in the country will be off limits to motor veekals, then what's the point in owning a Landy at all unless you're a farmer, utility company or rescue service.

It'll be pay and play or nothing. That's far more depressing than a bunch of injuns churning out Landies and Jags.
