My name is Stephen Moore and on July 18th 2010, I will be setting off on an expedition to circumnavigate the globe
in a fire engine! This is the first time that a journey of this nature has been attempted in such a vehicle and, should we be successful, the Follow The Fire Engine Challenge will officially enter the Guinness Book of Records for completing the longest emergency call out in history!
The Follow That Fire Engine (FTFE) Challenge is conceived in tribute to the memory my father, Garth Moore, who died of cancer in July of this year having served the Dorset Fire Brigade for more than 30 years. The FTFE Foundation, now a UK-registered charity, will raise money through sponsorship for three officially adopted charities associated with my fathers life and illness: Macmillan Cancer Support; The Fire Fighters Charity; and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. We are driving a 4x4 (a 7.5 tonne Mercedes truck) 1124AF. We are trying to find someone where in the UK where we can pratice driving off-road. We are based in London and Dorset. Can anyone help out ?
