flashing f4 and amber hill decent light on

hi as above had the fl for 6 days things were looking good but went out today gears went up 1st 2nd 3rd then jolt into 4th amber hill decent light came on and flashing f4 dosent seam to change up or down gears pulled over put it in to park turned off engine re started all ok drove for about 200 yrds same again!!! ive checked the 2 barrel plugs which seemed fine any help would be greatfull

F4 means the gearbox is in limp mode. This puts it into 4th to avoid further damage. Check the engine and gearbox ecu's connectors. Sometimes they need to be disconnect and re-connected to clean the contacts. Disconnect the battery first! (do you have the radio code) Otherwise you need to get the faults read.

hi thanks for the reply could you tell me where the ecu connectors are located are these the 2 barrel type connectors with several wires in each? yes i have the radio code

Just to let you all know checked the two barrel connections looked ok but gave them a clean just gone out on a 10 mile run and all ok😄 also if anyone is interested I'm after a swap my wheels for yours they are in the forsale section thanks.
