Hi all, had a gap of land rover ownership for about 6 months and its been a bleak time! I have just bought an FL2, can’t wait to get it.

It doesn’t have the OEM roof bars, which I would much prefer. Does anyone recommend any of the cheaper brands as the land rover ones are quite expensive? And could anyone direct me to a fitting guide? Thanks, Sam

I've read that all the cheap copies are from the same manufacturer, and are of questionable quality.
I'm keeping an eye out for some complete second hand genuine bars for mine.

Thanks for you reply, hmm understood. That’s a shame though but yet I might have to do the same. Sam

Before you start thinking about accessories, you'll want to get the maintenance of the drive train up to scratch.
LR have given the important components a stupidly long service interval, which most the time the components fail before they achieve the service distance.
So change the Haldex filter and fluid, the rear diff oil, the PTU oil, and gearbox oil/fluid too.

Hello again, if you’re interested this Freelander 2 is being broken, I’ve emailed the seller and he is selling the roof rails for £70. I’m not sure they’ll fit mine as it has two sunroofs so I’m not going to buy these. Thought I’d make you aware though.

Thanks. Unfortunately they won't fit my SE, as it has the glass roof.
Glass roof bars are taller than the non glass roof vehicle.

Thanks anyway.

Some parts numbers to assist the search

LR007220 = roof rail = with sunroof panoramic
LR006608 = roof rail = without sunroof panoramic
LR002417 = cross bars which fit both of the above rails
