FIXED Land Rover freelander 1 td4 ABS

hello there!

Problem - hand brake light stays on, ABS , TC and HD as well.

did standart things, hand brake switch checked, brake fluid ok, there is no foults on that side.

looked up for information that this foult comes on when tgere is EBD failure or BAS ECU is not connected, computer diagnostics cant connect to ABS ECU, everything else is fine, so i changed ABS ECU/modulator, TC light went off and IP dont show speed any more.

any ideas?

CAB bus wire gone bad?

as its automatic it goes from ECU-ABS (D125) -> ECU-ELECTRONIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (D123) -> ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) (D131)

any Q , ideas welcomed, ty

My 2001 td4 auto shows these error lamps when 2 or more abs sensors are faulty.

yeah, it kinnda does, but i cant connect to ABS ECU with code reader.
that sthe worst part, and after i changed ABS module , TC light went off and IP (instrument panel) does not show speed any more.

i will check CAN bus wires and then i will change back to old ABS module and try to read abs foult codes again.

Sounds like more than 2 wheel sensors are faulty.
You need to use a suitable diagnostic tool to read the ABS module. There are many systems available, I use a WOW / VCI with Delphi software, which reads all modules on the FL1.

Code reader was just fine.

when changing ABS module connector (only 1) pin broke , its like impossible. and it was the low CAN bus wire pin that broke.

and my problem was bad mechaical part from ABS, puted old elecrical part, and machanical from this one.

but thats not the problem. why LR service handbook does NOT write if 2 abs sensors are foulty then hand brake light will be ON?

there is only abs+ ebd failure, and no info about what makes EBD to fail.

i spent a week on repairs and studing hand books, service books electric wireing books etc :/

and in the end - it could have just been 2 abs sensor foult.

Yes when mine has 2 or more faulty abs sensors, the red hand brake light comes on, with 3 Amigos, and Speedo do NOT work. (2001). On a later freelander. ( 2003 onwards maybe?) Same fault displays as NO error lights in dash ( NO amigos) and the Speedo goes round and round on its own when ignition is on, according to some with later models. I have to change each abs sensor one by one until I find the faulty ones, as I have no diags that will connect to abs module.
The rave manual can lead you up the garden path sometimes on early models as nothing seems right in what it's telling you.

that is SUPER dumb, for a guy who is working on his cars by himself, that there is no clear service handbook solution for a hand brake light on, with 3 amigos that if 2 abs sensors are dead its gonna light up like that
