Just bought a rear window guard without fixings. It came from an 03. I have a 54. Seller was non plussed cos he said his back door had proper lugs to drop holding bars into but my door doesn't have them. Any suggestions anyone on how to solve this? Ta Loads

check the threads on this site, think I read somewhere that the lugs for it to drop onto are screwed onto the back door, so the seller perhaps should have given you these too. Been through RAVE, but couldn't find the instructions for this part no: STC53047, but I have definitely seen it somewhere in one of the forums, 'cos I checked before I bought one, so best get searching ! (apparently there are other forums available, but I wouldn't recommend it)

I fitted one recently and yea, seller should have supplied the bits to connect it up. You might be able to buy the fitting kit seperate or you might be able to manufacture your own. The rear trim on the rear door needs cutting into and all the measurements are on a bit of paper that comes with the kit.

To be honest, and if you are feeling brave, if you unscrew and remove the rear plastic door panel and have a good look around and using common sense you could fit the guard with 2 to 4 well placed jubilee clips and a couple of carefully sited holes drilled.
I fiited mine fine with the kit, but i didnt use all the bits and i definately didnt do it how the destructions said and the dog hasnt been sucked out the back yet.:)
