Fitting 24v LED lamps to my 12v Disco

I've been offered some cheap 24v LED strobes that near as damn it match my LED beacon, i'd love to buy them and fit them but what concerns me is the fact theyre 24v.

Is there a way to get these up and running easily without spending loads on extra bits and pieces?

If I was to buy the 12v version of these lights i'm looking at over £300 for 4, the 24v ones i've been offered are less than a quarter of that!

Thanks :D

Do you mean strobes or do you mean LED's? They are 2 completely different things.

What make and model are they?

They are these mate:

Vision Alert 100.379 - 3800 Series Clear LED Quad Flash 24v HGV Equipment

Suppose they are just flashing LED lights really lol

Yep they're just LED's. I dunno how cheap you are lookin at etting em but tbh you are better off getting multi-pattern and synch-able leds rather than them.

I had a set of them on my landy but they didn't like cold weather or water. I prefer the woodway (whelen) TIR6's which are the same size but brighter. I've only managed to kill one woodway LED and it still works to a point. I've actually left the damaged one on my landy because I was blinding those that I was towing with full brightness ones on.

forgot to say...

If the price is that good, you can always get a 12v to 24v step up converter to run em. It'll cost you anywhere between £15 and £60. The current draw of LED's is very low so it wouldn't need to be that powerful.

Thanks Ratty.
Theyre very cheap, mates clearing out his workshop and wants rid. To be honest I dont really need them but for one they match my beacon (clear lens amber LED) and two I work in the recovery game and do some private bits now and then (winch work, jump starts etc) so always handy to be visible. If they hadnt been cheap then I wouldnt have bothered really lol

Probably buy the stepper off eBay, new grille to mount them too then get them all fitted up securely :D

Thanks for your input!

Damn! I was hoping to see the video of the fire caused by wiring a transformer across a car battery.
