I have just bought a 2001 v6 5 door GS and have been offered some leather seats and wondered if the cabling is in place to connect the heaters up. I have the relay and fuse in the fusebox and have had a root around under the seats and found the the setbelt PT cable but after a quick look cannot seem to locate any other connectors hidden under the carpet.

Thanks in Advance

Not sure but I was always thinking that all cabling was present no matter what edition. It might be the extra cables are taped in with the rest and only those which were needed at the time of construction come out. Others knowing more (not difficult in my case..:D ) will hopefully be able to inform you correctly.

There's a bundle of extra cables under the set of my 2002 TD4

However - even if these are the right ones for the heated seats (which I think they are) are the wires running to behind the switch blanks, and will the ECU be configured to make 'em work?

Cheers

I think they are just switch operated and not controlled through the ECU ?? (What can an ECU do for heated seats ?? Measure the temp. of your bum while entering the car ????:D :D :D )

Could not find any cables so ran some in and connected everything up and the seats heat up. The ECU controls the "relay-Auxilary" that feeds power to fuse 29 but this relay also supplies power to other circuits that are in use as standard, so no need for program changes to the ECU. I will post some pictures if anyone is interested in doing the same that show the connections and how I routed the cables, when I get a chance.
