I have a 2004 pre face lift GS . The heated seats buttons are blanked off with switches that look like they can be swapped out for the real buttons. How do i go about checking if the wiring is already in place . I have fabric seats. Just wondering if its a questions of buying the buttons and connecting the wires or would i have to buy seats and switches?

Pull a switch blank out, and see if the wiring is there.
However even if the wires are behind the switches, there's no good that the rest of the wiring to the seats us in place, and you'll also need heated seats, as the none heated seat models don't have heater pads fitted in the seats.

It's possible to retrofit heated seats, it's definitely been done.

thanks for the information. i was thinking the seats may just need to be connected. Has anyone had experience using those heated seat covers you plug into cig lighter socket?

Drawing lots of power through the lighter socket feels like it may be bad for the car battery./fusebox. How safe are they in general if they go wrong when your sitting on them?
