I need to retime my fip on a P38. I have all the tools but my rave disc is on my other computer and i dont remember the value that the dial gauge should read at tdc also the search function seems to be down on here and appreciate it if some one could post the value on here

Remove oil filler cap, turn engine clockwise until No1cam lobe is vertical, this indicates the engine is approx 90 degrees BTDC No1 on compression stroke.fit timing gauge with approx 2 mm preload. Keep turning engine until the gauge needle reads its lowest point.zero gauge. Continue turning engine clockwise until the timing pin fits into the flywheel. Check reading. Engine less than 20k klms 0.95 mm+ - 0.02 m more than 20 k klms 0.90mm + - 0.02 mm

And don't get the timing pin hung up on the pips 40 degrees before or 20 degrees after TDC as one of our notable members did quite often. ;):D:D
